Month in Review – June 2021

The Leftovers played at The Durack Tavern

Here at Schmick we are very proud that we get the chance to work with such excellent artists.

This month at the Hope and Anchor we had an all-female showdown. It was amazing to watch these girls in action. So much talent on show.

June was a very exciting month for Schmick. Along with some really impressive line-ups, we also had a private function out at Esk where Olivia Ruth, Hat Fitz & Cara, and The Hipshooters all played. With almost 200 people there, it was an EPIC weekend.

It was fantastic to be invited by Ballistic Beer at Salisbury to put on a whole weekend worth of shows at their main brewery. We had two solo artists, on Saturday and Sunday, plus a band late on Saturday night. From all reports, it went OFF TAP and the guys loved it. Cheers Ballistic Brewery, it’s great to be involved with you.

We finished the month off with two exceptional gigs at the Durack Tavern. Friday night we had Dillion James hosting a blues jam which included legends Lazy John and Blind Dog Donnie. It was an amazing show, and the support base for these old legends was fantastic. Seeing them play together was great. On Sunday we had The Leftovers, a brilliant band that I pieced together with some of my mates. We packed the place, the whole venue was full! The kitchen, the restaurant, the beer garden, ALL were full, it was an awesome afternoon. We also had Dan and Felicity, a couple of young guys, open the show. I threw them up on stage with The Leftovers and they were absolutely chuffed.
